Well, if you really want to know how to utterly destroy a working business model than perhaps one day Kevin Medina (former CEO of RegisterFly) will hold seminars on how he single-handedly managed to bring ICAAN accredited registrar RegisterFly to it’s knees.
It’s a sordid tale of corruption, theft and system failures!
I won’t go into details here as the whole mess has been covered in detail at RegisterFly gripe sites like RegisterFlies and RegisterFleas as well as Bob Parsons (the CEO of GoDaddy) personal blog. There’s even a brilliantly done tell all video by a frustrated RegisterFly victim.
I’ve personally lost well over a dozen domains with almost two dozen more trapped in RegisterFly hell.
I have managed to salvage a big portion of my domains by transferring them to one of the industries most highly rated registrars Moniker. I currently have 50 domains with them (Moniker), with another 11 pending transfer.
Wish me luck in escaping RegisterFly Hell

On February 21, 2007 ICANN’s Senior Vice President, Services, Kurt J. Pritz issued an official Notice of Breach of ICANN Registrar Accreditation Agreement to Registerfly stating: “Registerfly has 15 working days to cure the breaches described in this letter”.
The breaches are described in this official letter.
What I’d like to know is why did it take over a year for ICAAN to take action when these complaints started to trickle in in late 2005 and then continued in 2006 to turn into a torrent?

There may be light yet at the end of the RegisterFly tunnel (or maybe hole would be more appropriate). According the the anti-RF site RegisterFlies, the former CEO of RF has been removed from his position and other interested parties are trying to salvage what’s left of the company.

Of course, regardless of what happens with RF as soon as I can get the last of my domains away from RF the better (the ones I haven’t lost yet that is due to RF’s incompetence!).
