Simpy, the next stage in Social Bookmarking?
I found Simpy quite by accident when I was checking for inbound Google links to one of my domains and found a Simpy user had bookmarked the Web site in question. At first look Simpy looks like just another Del.icio.us clone but a closer look reveals some intriguing features.
For example, if you view my personal Simpy profile, you’ll notice that unlike Del.icio.us which immediately displays a list of a specific users most recently bookmarked Web sites, that Simpy instead presents a brief profile based on information that the user provides to Simpy; including the users name, join date, personal blog URL and a tag cloud of the user’s most frequently used tags.
Some of the additional features that make Simpy an excellent alternative to Del.icio.us is the one-click access to similar Web sites, the ability to have “private links” and the built-in mail system that allows you to quickly and easily send links to friends and family. Plus, Simpy also allows users to import their existing Del.icio.us bookmarks…a real time saver!
